Short plot synopsis for children’s book
Matt Buckle visits his grandfather Mori everyday after school. Mori, an ex-inventor/scientist has fallen on hard times and struggles to sustain himself through an ice-cream van business. Although he does his best to hide his concerns from Matt, Mori is very worried that he is on the verge of losing his livelihood, his home and perhaps also his memory.
One day Matt accidentally discovers that Mori has a hidden secret – he has invented a way of preserving his fading memories by freezing them in ice-cream. Matt’s enthusiasm for this invention makes Mori realise the value of his discovery and the pair embark on a journey resulting in the discovery of a whole host of remarkable insights into the past and the lives of others. Mori’s fortunes are dramatically reversed and Matt gains a far greater understanding of his grandfather.
